Ethan Fuirst is a filmmaker, writer, and performer based in Brooklyn. He’s performing in his play Dance Dance Revolution at Jack from March 28 - April 1.

His short films include Rumpelstiltskin (OutFest Award for Artistic Achievement), The Victorias (The New Yorker, Vimeo Staff Pick), As Close as We Can, Long Bad Text, and other masterworks of cinema. His work has been featured in The New York Times, NoBudge, Short of the Week and has screened at NewFest, OutFest, Aspen Shortsfest, San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, and other shindigs.

He has produced drag-inspired book launches for Blood, Sweat & Chrome and The Queer Film Guide.

Most importantly, he’s a devoted Streisand scholar. On April 24, 2022, he hosted and co-produced Barbra’s 80th Birthday Cabaret. Additionally, he moderated a panel discussion on Streisand’s memoir at the Center for Brooklyn History.

Ethan is a former employee of the Jacob Burns Film Center, the Telluride Film Festival, and the Tenement Museum. He studied film and history at Kenyon College. He grew up in Chappaqua, New York, where he raised three chickens before they were eaten by a fox.
